You might fill that page
with skin-of-their-teeth escapes,
but eventually,
you need to get your hero
to Lothlorien,
or back to the arms of her friends,
or into the warm presence of Aslan.
Pace your story.
Find your way through the nail biter,
and then descend into the valley
of your Rivendell:
tea and silence,
a quiet book,
a walk beside the river,
an evening in company
with your best beloveds.
