(Poem-A-Day Prompt 3: “The Last Time I was Here)
Here we go again,
me and Mike Finnegan,
and some old Benedictine:
Begin again,
begin again,
begin again.
I thought I had evolved
past the brooding and the sulk,
past lack of will, lack of resolve.
Begin again,
begin again,
begin again.
The last time I was here,
the emptiness was vaster,
I was drawn to the disaster.
Begin again,
begin again,
begin again.
Today that distant light
seems brighter, closer, right
around the corner.
Begin again,
begin again,
begin again.
Yay! I love that you so freely put your thought-words out to the universe… even if you are not always pleased with how they come out, it is still a gift! (and it corresponds with start of online 21 Days of Gratitude meditation!) Thank you for saying what I (and I like to believe many) want to say, but don’t know how.
